Judas Betrays Jesus
Judas Betrays Jesus as Jesus fortold. Judas one of his 12 disciples leads the guards to capture Jesus
13:21 When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said,
Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.
13:22 Then the disciples looked one on another, doubting of whom he spake.
13:23 Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved.
13:24 Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him, that he should ask who it should be of whom he spake.
13:25 He then lying on Jesus' breast saith unto him, Lord, who is it?
13:26 Jesus answered,
He it is, to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped
And when he had dipped the sop, he gave
to Judas Iscariot,
13:27 And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him,
That thou doest, do quickly.
13:28 Now no man at the table knew for what intent he spake this unto him.
13:29 For some of
thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus had said unto him, Buy
that we have need of against the feast; or, that he should give something to the poor.
13:30 He then having received the sop went immediately out: and it was night.
18:1 WHEN Jesus had spoken these words, he went forth with his disciples over the brook Cedron, where was a garden, into which he entered, and his disciples.
18:2 And Judas also, which betrayed him, knew the place: for Jesus ofttimes resorted thither with his disciples.
18:3 Judas then, having received a band
and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, cometh thither with lanterns and torches and weapons.
18:4 Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them,
Whom seek ye?
18:5 They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them,
. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them.
18:6 As soon then as he had said unto them,
they went backward, and fell to the ground.
18:7 Then asked he them again,
Whom seek ye?
And they said, Jesus of Nazareth.
18:8 Jesus answered,
I have told you that I am
: if therefore ye seek me, let these go their way:
18:9 That the saying might be fulfilled, which he spake,
Of them which thou gavest me have I lost none.
18:10 Then Simon Peter having a sword drew it, and smote the high priest's servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant's name was Malchus.
18:11 Then said Jesus unto Peter,
Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?
22:3 Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve.
22:4 And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray him unto them.
22:5 And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money.
22:6 And he promised, and sought opportunity to betray him unto them in the absence of the multitude.
22:47 And while he yet spake, behold a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near unto Jesus to kiss him.
22:48 But Jesus said unto him,
Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?
22:49 When they which were about him saw what would follow, they said unto him, Lord, shall we smite with the sword?
22:50 And one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear.
22:51 And Jesus answered and said,
Suffer ye thus far.
And he touched his ear, and healed him.
22:52 Then Jesus said unto the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and the elders, which were come to him,
Be ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and staves?
When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.
14:10 And Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went unto the chief priests, to betray him unto them.
14:11 And when they heard
, they were glad, and promised to give him money. And he sought how he might conveniently betray him;
14:43 And immediately, while he yet spake, cometh Judas, one of the twelve, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders.
14:44 And he that betrayed him had given them a token, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he; take him, and lead
14:45 And as soon as he was come, he goeth straightway to him, and saith, Master, master; and kissed him.
14:46 And they laid their hands on him, and took him.
14:47 And one of them that stood by drew a sword, and smote a servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.
14:48 And Jesus answered and said unto them,
Are ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and
staves to take me?
I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and ye took me not: but the scriptures must be fulfilled.
14:50 And they all forsook him, and fled.
26:14 Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests,
26:15 And said
, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.
26:16 And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.
27:3 Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,
27:4 Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What
to us? see thou
27:5 And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.
27:6 And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood.
27:7 And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter's field, to bury strangers in.
27:8 Wherefore that field was called, The field of blood, unto this day.
27:9 Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value;
27:10 And gave them for the potter's field, as the Lord appointed me.
